These terms are the agreement between you and Oxtro for using the website at getoxtro.com, and the app and API at app.getoxtro.com. Please read them before you create an account.

Who we are and who these terms cover

Oxtro is operated by an individual based in Algeria ("Oxtro", "we", "us"). You can reach us at contact@getoxtro.com.

"You" means the person or organisation that creates an Oxtro account. If you accept these terms for an organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to do so on its behalf. You must be at least 18 years old to use Oxtro. By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms and our privacy policy.

The service

Oxtro lets you link WhatsApp numbers you own and use them from a shared inbox, for campaigns and templates, and through a REST API that sends messages and one-time verification codes and reports events to your systems with webhooks. What you can use, and how much, depends on your plan.

Oxtro is not the official WhatsApp Business Platform

This section matters more than any other, so please read it carefully.

  • Oxtro connects to your own WhatsApp account through a linked-device session, the same mechanism as WhatsApp Web. It does not use the WhatsApp Business Platform or Cloud API, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta.
  • WhatsApp's own terms continue to apply to every number you link. WhatsApp can restrict, log out or ban a number at any time, for reasons we cannot see or control. We cannot prevent a ban and we cannot reverse one.
  • You use your numbers with Oxtro at your own risk. We are not responsible for the loss of a number, its contacts or chat history, or messages WhatsApp did not deliver.
  • Delivery depends on WhatsApp and on the phone that owns the number staying active. Do not rely on Oxtro as the only way to send messages that are critical to someone's safety, health or money.
  • You must own each number you link, or have the right to use it.

Our guide to keeping your number safe explains the habits that lower the risk. It cannot remove it.

Your account

Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. Keep your password and API keys secret. You are responsible for everything done through your account, your workspaces and your API keys, including by the people you invite. Tell us straight away at contact@getoxtro.com if you believe someone has used them without permission.

Acceptable use

You may use Oxtro only for lawful purposes. In particular, you must not:

  • send messages to people who have not agreed to hear from you, or to numbers you bought, scraped or guessed;
  • keep messaging someone who has asked you to stop;
  • send spam, phishing, malware, scams, or content that is illegal, deceptive, hateful or harassing;
  • pretend to be another person or organisation;
  • break WhatsApp's terms, or laws on marketing, consumer protection or data protection that apply to you or your recipients;
  • send verification codes for a service you do not operate;
  • try to get around the limits of your plan, probe or attack the service, or reverse engineer it;
  • resell the service without a written agreement with us.

We may remove content, pause sending or suspend an account that breaks these rules.

Your content and your contacts' data

The content you put into Oxtro, including your contacts, messages, templates and files, remains yours. You allow us to store, process and transmit it only to provide the service to you.

You are responsible for your contacts' personal data: for having a lawful basis to message them and for telling them how you use their data. We process that data as your processor, as described in our privacy policy.

Plans and payment

Plans differ by the number of connected numbers, team members, messages, campaign recipients and verification requests. The current plans and their prices are shown on the billing page of your workspace.

  • You can pay in US dollars through Stripe or PayPal, or in Algerian dinars through SlickPay or OneClick with an EDAHABIA or CIB card.
  • Each payment covers one billing period. Plans do not renew automatically: to keep a paid plan, pay for the next period before the current one ends. When a period ends unpaid, the workspace moves to the limits of the free plan.
  • When you reach a limit of your plan, the requests that go over it are refused until you upgrade or a new period starts.
  • You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase.

Cancellation and refunds

You can stop paying at any time. A paid plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and you are not charged again. Payments are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account if you break these terms, if your use puts the service or other people at risk, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

You can stop using Oxtro at any time and ask us to close your account at contact@getoxtro.com. After an account is closed, its data is deleted as described in our privacy policy, so export anything you want to keep first.

The API

Use the API as described in the documentation, within the rate limits that apply to your account. Keep your API keys on your servers, never in an app or web page. The API is versioned under /v1. If we need to make a change that would break existing integrations, we announce it in advance.

Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Oxtro available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove a feature you pay for, we tell you in advance.

Disclaimer

Oxtro is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those stated in these terms, including about fitness for a particular purpose or the results you will get from using it.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, or for the loss or restriction of a WhatsApp number. Our total liability for any claim relating to Oxtro is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from claims by third parties that arise from your content, the messages you send through Oxtro, or your breach of these terms or of the law.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Algeria. If a dispute arises, write to us first and we will try to resolve it within 30 days. If we cannot, the competent courts of Algeria have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep any protection that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We change the date at the top of this page when we do, and we tell account owners about significant changes by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Oxtro after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
